Wedding Fairs

A Most Curious Wedding Fair Hackney

Wow, it has taken me almost a week to catch my breath and catch up with myself after the AMCWF in London last weekend. So finally getting onto writing up a little blog post and sharing some of the talented event photographers snaps with you all.

This was my fist time exhibiting with A Most Curious Wedding Fair, and I was not dissapointed! What a wonderful creative fair, full of such lovely and interesting exhibitors, not to mention how kind and helpful Cat and Sara are, who organised it all and the venue Hackney Down Studios was the perfect backdrop.

As well as exhibiting at the fair, I had the privilege of ‘complete design control’ of the craft room there (for those that went, the first room on your right, past the pop up bar). I was thrilled when I arrived at the venue, with a van full of decor and props, and my wonderful assistant Amy, to find the craft room was even bigger and better than I imagined. With a large wooden stage to serve as a perfect backdrop to my decor. We quickly got to work hanging and styling, to complete a colourful backdrop of rosette wheels, paper streamers, retro flasks as vases (filled with pretty flowers from the lovely Elaine at Oriole and Thistle), complete with my newly painted pineapples, some vintage frames and plastic love hearts as props for photos.

If you attended the fair, I’m sure you would agree that there was such creative wonderful exhibitors there, for a full list check the website here A Most Curious Wedding Fair, but to mention a few that I was lucky enough to meet and admire, there was the fabulous Lemonade & Laughing Gas with their beautiful caravan, Lucy Says I Do with gorgeous stationary, Vagabond Couture with stunning feather headpieces, Muscat London, who won Bridal Next competition with his elegant bridal dresses, The Apothecary Bar and the creative crafters Ladyland and Noodles Doodles Creative… to name just  few!!

Creative Brides Wedding Fair- Scotney Castle

Wow, what a wonderful weekend just spent at the Creative Brides wedding fair in a large marquee at Scotney Castle in Kent.

This was not only a fair full of creativity, uniqueness and such friendly and talented exhibitors, this also happened to be my first fair as an exhibitor. I am so pleased to have found Creative Brides as Clair chose a great venue, a wonderful selection of exhibitors and because of this I was able to meet great people, both exhibiting there and attending couples or bride to be’s with their friends and families.

I have also learnt that a bit of tough competition is not as bad as you may initially think, it helps you to remember you need to constantly up your game and more than that, it is such a pleasure to talk to your competitors, who are usually much friendlier than you think.  To talk to somebody that has gone or is going through the same ups and downs and non stop work as you is refreshing, even those that are doing a very different business to you.

With two more fairs still to go in the next month (Belles Bridal Bizzare and Miss Vintage Wedding Affair), I now have my work cut out to make some quick last minute improvements to my stand and prepare myself for the next whirlwind of fairs and exhibitors!
